For his first St. David's Day, James had some special visitors for the weekend. Granny & Grandad came to stay and Granny helped feed James' appetite with his first bite of an apple

After watching Granny eat her apple, James certainly fancied trying some too!

James gets all two of his teeth into it!

James and Granny both seem to approve of this new taste!

When James doesn't want to be seen smiling but just can't help the smile appearing, we get the coy grin as demonstrated here!

Similar to one in his nursery, we've been loaned one of these activity walkers. James loves it and never knows which bit to play with next!

Just as he had done for daddy, James had been shopping for a Mothers Day card and after his morning nap, he woke up and gave mummy his card!

Before actually handing the card over for good, James had to check its chewiness properties. It seemed ok to him so he let mummy have the card. Eventually!

Before Granny & Grandad headed off home, we all went for a walk. James wanted to go on the swings so of course we let him have a quick go.

After a tough day playing at nursery it's always nice to have a good bedtime story to settle down with.

After eating all our dinner and pudding, we tried James with a bit of chocolate muffin. We think he approved of the new taste!

All this rugby on telly can take it out of you. Especially when your side has just won the Triple Crown! The boys in red were very happy though!

We went over to Swansea to catch up with Grandpa and GranGran for the day. We went out for a brisk stroll along the cliffs in the wind so we were very happy to get back to the nice warm car.

Once we got back we had a good old crawl around the living room and topped it off with some assisted walking which was very enjoyable!

After a day in nursery, we were a happy chappy as we'd been doing lots of learning to walk so once we got home we just had to celebrate!

As we are so proficient at standing up now, James decided to test how sturdy the stairgate is. Fortunately for us, it seems to stand up to the little man and his best efforts to shake it off!

Like all good people, we brush our teeth morning and night. Mummy started off helping out but James decided he could do a better job.

Caught red handed! James decided to rearrange the bathroom for us, even though we hadn't requested it!

James, just like his daddy was quite nervous before the big game, and just couldn't concentrate on getting his peach into his mouth. Believe it or not he did eat most of it but then mummy did a great job of cleaning up. (Daddy was preoccupied with the TV for some reason!)

After a tense first half (James was so tense he went out for a very wet walk with mummy), Wales played really well for the last 40 minutes and were rewarded with the Grand Slam they deserved. Not bad going for James, first 6 Nations and his first Grand Slam!

Just in case you didn't believe it, look for the 6 Nations and Triple Crown trophies on the TV there! Woohoo!!!!

Unfortunately, we've had a poorly week. Mummy had already booked the week off work and had lots of nice things planned but James managed to pick up a tummy bug and just wasn't himself. Fortunately it seems to be passing and we're becoming more like our normal self again. As you can see here, we're doing some serious playing!

Knocking down towers is a favourite pastime and with James having been poorly there was no time like the present to make up for all the towers left standing!

Taken a fraction of a second after the shot above, James begins searching for the next construction to be demolished!

Now that we are climbing up on anything and everything, it also seems a good idea to climb up on the door and take a good look outside. All the hard work daddy put in cleaning the windows seems to be a distant memory now......

......especially when we do this to the windows! Caption suggestions: 1) James auditions for the Sound of Music. 2) Impression of a rabbit in headlights. 3) Startled Goldfish 4) James licking the window!

Crawling at warp factor 9 here, we really can shift when we want to!

Mummy tries to point out the candles on her cake but it seems other things in the room are more exciting! If you really had to choose between cake or a light which would it be? James knows what he likes right now but I reckon the answer will change in the future for certain!

With daddy feeling better and all of us in need of a holiday, we get in the car and head off to the south coast for a bit of R&R. Membury services provides a quick milk stop for James though the sun visor is something we've not seen before!

A nice big living room with loads of crawling space is just what James likes. Floor carnage ensues...!

When James pushes the boundaries he gives a look that shows he's pushing the limits of what is allowed. We're getting dangerously close to a plant here which was deemed out of bounds so we look back and check if it still is forbidden!

Another game of peekaboo. Unfortunately for Granny & Grandad we have been climbing up on everything. Of course, normally their windows are impeccably clean but James soon put that straight!

After a tasty dinner we give daddy a big messy birthday grin!

We've been doing some serious playing and as you can see from the mess behind, we're not into playing tidily!

We've lots of favourite toys at the moment. Our stacking rings toy is up there with the best of them as there are so many ways we can play with it. James demonstrates throwing a ring before Grandad gets his hands on it!

On our last day at Granny & Grandad's the sun put in a welcome showing and we sat outside for a while. As you can see James is turning blonder and that's without the sun over the winter. Who knows what he'll be like in a few months time!

James is definitely in need of a haircut with his hair down to his eyes now! Maybe we'll sort that out in a bit...

We were lined up against the wall and shot, by the camera! Spot the cute one in the middle!

Different family photo combinations! Here's one of the proud Grandparents with daughter and grandson!

After the formal photo session was done, we were relieved to get back to playing and laughing at Grandad's silly noises and faces!

As you can see, just before we left Em decided that it was time to cut James' hair! James wasn't amused at this and let his feelings be known!

Trapped by Granny and with Mummy wielding sharp scissors, resistance was futile. James just sucks his thumb and waits for the ordeal to end.

With a few funny grins from Daddy it didn't seem so bad. I think Mummy did an excellent job too, don't we look smart now?!
