After pointing up at the mirror and with a helpful lift up, James has a good look at the handsome chap looking back at him.

After a load of rain and with only Chris' phone camera to record events, we went out to the park to find a puddle or two to splash around in. This time we didn't manage to fall over and had great fun in our wellies.

This is what happens when you take your eye off him for more than ten seconds! A pile of paper for the full recycling bin was sitting happily on the floor, so James helpfully decided to put it in the washing machine!

Like any typical little boy he's perfected the "It wasn't me look!"

Anything with buttons, and especially things with lights and buttons are magnets for James. As well as the flicking the TV box on and off, he turns on the dishwasher, radio, washing machine and loves remote controls!

With some more surprisingly warm mid-October sunshine we managed to use the washing line so James helps us out by getting a few pegs out of the bag.

Who ever thought hanging the washing out could be so exciting?!

After reaching the keys which Mummy and Daddy thought were in an inaccessible position, James checks them out and wonders how they work.

After pointing at the lock and making the "I can't get to it / I want" noise, James gets a lift up from Mummy and sets about on opening the door!

With some more dry weather, we have a play in the garden with our great big football. We've graduated on from saying "Buh" for ball and it now sounds much more like "Ball".

As ever James is all action and not even the camera can stop him!

The words on his T-shirt describe him perfectly! Trouble is my middle name - That's just about right!

Although the sun is out and it hasn't rained for a few days, the grass is still a bit wet and muddy and James manages to get grimy quickly. Here's yet another soggy bot-bot in progress!

We've found the little stones in the garden here and have had a go at putting them in our mouth. James knows that this is frowned upon so gives us one of his innocent faces!

Even though we've been walking and running unaided for 4 months now, we still like the walker and other objects for pushing. The walker is often being whizzed around the kitchen or the garden if it's taken outside. James had a go at moving it out there himself but gave up but didn't leave it in the easiest position to get out himself!

Noticing Daddy with the obligatory camera, James gives him a nice big smile.

Ever observant, James has a good look at a bird as it flies overhead.

With Grandpa and GranGran coming over for an afternoon visit, we all wrap up for a post lunch walk. James looks very smart in his new coat and hopes that he passes Grandpa's turn out inspection!

With grey skies and a cool breeze, the playpark was quite quiet for a Sunday afternoon which was great news for James as there was no one else on the swings!

Grandpa and James play the Stop game on the swings. James loves being held at the top of a swing and then let go!

James gets a different perspective on the world from atop Grandpa's shoulders.

After chasing the football around and numerous tumbles in the muddy grass, we were looking fairly grubby. James shows off his mucky knees which he worked hard on getting!

Back at home and we're back to the books again. A new favourite book is "Where's that Monkey?", especially the page with the sleepy leopard. When he sees the leopard sleeping he puts his finger to his lips and makes a "Ssssssss" noise! How cute?!!

With both Mummy and Daddy to play with, the weekend is an even more happy time for our little lad!

James must have slept in a strange position last night as no combing or brushing was going to sort his hair out today!

The good old walker was much in evidence this weekend and the usual accompanying sound was three or four seconds of fast footsteps followed by a crash!

That morning hair just wouldn't calm down!

James happily reads to himself about Postman Pat's van!

Reading is much more fun when you can share it though!

We really like these ones. Daddy asked James to give him a smile and it changed from his normal busy face to this grin...

...to this big huge toothy smile! Anyone would think that we've been coaching him to do these big smiles!!!

Whatever he's doing, it always takes maximum concentration!

The nice tiled kitchen floor is always a good source of entertainment, especially with the favourite plastic ball. James actually manages to bounce the ball higher than the kitchen surfaces now which causes no end of amusement to him!

But with such vigour comes mishaps! Somehow the ball went under the kitchen sink all on its own!

One of James' new phrases is "Uh-oh" which is used often nowadays! One such "Uh-oh" came here when the ball disappeared yet again!

...and this is where it went! Between the fridge and the kitchen units. Daddy to the rescue again after a few "I need something" noises!

Whilst Mummy and Daddy did some cooking, James amused himself by whizzing round and round the "kitchen loop" with his walker. This lasted for at least 15 minutes so he's certainly putting the miles in. Needless to say he slept well after all this!

Oh my god, he's coming straight at us!
