A nice sunny Saturday and we took a stroll to the library. After getting some new books it was time to play.

The ball quickly found its way into the trees and James works out how to get to it.

Daddy started a fun game of kicking the ball into the air and James loved watching the ball going up and down.

All this running around is thirsty work and James came looking for refreshment. No point in fussing around looking for somewhere to sit though, the path looks like a good spot!

After the ball headed straight into the daffodils, James had a good look at all the flowers and points at his favourite one.

With ball back in hand, James quickly moves off and back up to full speed.

We tried to get a nice picture with the daffodils as a backdrop but James wasn't having it. Note the stick in James' hand, this had been classified as rubbish so here he's telling Mummy that he needs to find a bin to put it in.

James loves getting airborne and Daddy also gets a workout. Just as well James is still quite light as Daddy can throw him up nice and high.

James has his own versions of some words, with one of those being "Da-Doos" meaning daffodils.

A bit of back room football and James knows the difference between kicks and big kicks! This is definitely a big kick!

Daddy had been busy assembling "things" earlier in the day and had left the screwdriver lying around. This was quickly found by James who knows what its often used for. He immediately tried to fit some batteries to one of his battery powered toys.

Having put his batteries in James checks that everything works ok.

While an expanding Mummy puts her feet up, James takes a little time out from rushing around to watch a snippet of TV.

Daddy, Bubbles, Please! How can you resist?

A lot of James' play or running around is accompanied by a constant background call of Aaaaaaaaa! It's especially prevalent when he runs around as with each heavy footstep, the pitch wavers to give a vibrato effect!

Another picture of Mummy with the younger Thomases. One outside and one inside!

Another nice sunny day and James heads out into the garden and discovers some new toys. Unfortunately the door needs a little DIY attention but James doesn't seem to mind.

James had a good look around inside and outside his "new" playhouse and discovered a little friend.

James is very particular about some things and likes to have them as he thinks they should be. The snail shouldn't have been on the shutters so Daddy had to move it!

Can you guess whose fingers these are? Someone liked opening and closing them repeatedly!

James tries out his very own slide right in our garden. We don't even need to go to the park to play on one now!

James likes the anticipation just as much as the sliding and says at the top "Ready! Daddy Push!"

Since James saw people playing tennis both in the park and on TV, he has taken to playing tennis back at home. He needs a spoon and a ball and bats the ball along the floor!

With a gradually expanding Em, Granny came over to help out and keeps an eye on James as he comes down the slide.

Look Daddy. Aeroplane! James has a good look up in the skies to spot the aeroplane!

Granny and James head off to find a postbox to post the letter. It's very exciting going to the post box!

We all headed off to the local farm park on the Sunday and James soon found the machinery much more interesting than the animals!

James didn't want to go on the big tractor and was more than happy to stay on his own!

Apart from when he got stuck on the grass. It's a bit of a disadvantage when your feet don't reach the pedals!

Having bought a bag of animal feed, James unsurpisingly wasn't confident enough to feed the bigger animals so watches Granny as she feeds them for him.

Mummy points out some animals to James as Granny bears the brunt!

Granny doesn't mind doing Piggy Backs though. In fact we think she quite likes them!

James' new skill is trying to get inverted. He's not got the hang of forward rolls yet but it won't be long!

We could fib and say that this was James 10 minutes later but this was just another attempt at getting upside down!

All those rolly pollys play havoc with your barnet!

Ever polite, James says hello to the chicken, even if it doesn't seem to friendly itself!

The tractors proved to be very popular with all the children and you had to hang on to one once you got one. The little cars just weren't up to the mark!

We all took it in turns to push James around a loop. We all had bad backs afterwards after stooping down to push his tractor!

On one of Daddys many laps, we stopped to say hello to Mummy who had picked up the camera.

James has the cutest wave as you can see here!

Stopping off at the shops on the way home, we have a very tired little man in the back of the car!

James loves playing outside and when you can combine things you love that's even better...

Mummy or Daddy has to put the ball at the top of the slide and then let it go. James waits at the bottom and gives it a big kick!

When he connects well he lets us know by saying "Big Kick Daddy" as the ball flies off. Check out the form though, nice action!

Being 23 months old today, the ball never gets back to the top of the slide quick enough and there's far too much waiting around waiting for the next chance to do a big kick!

Having moved on from the big kick game, James decides to let Midge the doggy have a go down the slide!

Grandma popped over for a visit and relished every chance of a cuddle with James!

With some nice spring sunshine, James takes his walker out for a spin in the garden.

Ever demanding of our visitors, Grandpa gets the task of following James around the garden.

Grandpa has other ideas though and soon manages a sit down, courtesy of some good story telling!

With the bright sunlight, and noticing Mummy with her sunglasses on, James wants to join in and finds his sunglasses for Grandpa to help put on.

Amazingly enough, James keeps his sunglasses on for a few minutes as he models his latest look!

We joined most of our NCT friends at Morgans second birthday party but after James' nap went on a bit too long, we got there a bit late. Still James managed to wake up quickly enough when he saw all the toys and balloons!

The community centre was full of soft play toys, a bouncy castle and numerous other attractions. James took to this little red car straight away!

The downside of arriving late is things finish too quickly and James was really getting into the swing of things just as they had to close up! Never mind, there'll be more times like this!
