A lovely start to the New Year with a visit from Milly, Mick & Julie. Story time in James' bedroom was enjoyed by everyone there!

While Mick reads the story, James and Milly hold hands. Soooo cute!

A lovely kiss between the two best buddies!

These are genuine smiles! It's lovely to see them together playing like this.

Another quick hug before we all head downstairs to find Sophie.

After all those stories up stairs it's always good to find something nice to watch on the TV. Even better when everyone can watch it together!

It must be a good episode! There's certainly no break in concentration here, even Milly doesn't realise there's nothing in the cup!

As ever, hometime is tough and with Milly all suited and booted, her and Mr Pickles give James a goodbye hug.

Sophie likes the sensation of being vertical and is getting pretty strong on her feet. Look just one hand today!

Showing off her two teeth, Sophie has a lovely smile for Daddy here!

With more snow outside, Sophie is wrapped up ready for a touch of the Arctic in Wales.

James looks like he's off to walk to the Pole here, but it was much more exciting than that with the snow outside!

Come on Mummy and Daddy!

Another couple of inches of snow meant lots of playing to be done. The wheelbarrow has seen much more snow than earth in it so far!

At just the right depth, the snow was perfect for raking!

So much snow, so little time!

In a part of the garden where he normally plays with the stones, James has a new activity to do.

Daddy certainly wasn't going to make it to work today with all this to battle through!

A real dump of snow gave us a total of 6-8 inches of snow and with the village cut off, there was no way in or out for anyone.

The garden was transformed into a snowy Scandinavian scene rather than a typical Welsh wet winter.

Even with two parents at home (Daddy was working from home though), James managed to get into big trouble. Needless to say, we weren't impressed on finding crayon over the walls. White toothpaste and alot of elbow grease did the trick though.

Whilst waiting to go and play in the snow, the wait became a bit too long for someone.

It was a struggle to get the pushchair this far but we wanted Sophie to see what all the fuss was about.

Daddy and James tried to build a snowman but with the snow being very fine and powdery all we managed was a snow heap!

With all the snow from the drive shovelled into a big heap, James tries the difficult north face ascent.

The following day was more of the same but much sunnier. With the roads still iced it was time to get out and enjoy it as much as we could.

Daddy went up to investigate the roads, and as you can see here, it was pretty treacherous. Maybe a case for a 4x4?!!

With Daddy's work for the day done, his study was invaded and it was time to play at knocking down towers.

Another fall of snow gave that fresh feel to the snow and James and Daddy went off to play outside for a while.

It's a bit more difficult to rake the snow when it's this deep but James kept on trying.

Making footprints in the snow is great fun, especially when it's this deep!

We had a little demonstration of snow balls and James thought it great fun to throw some at Daddy!

While Daddy has a quick break from clearing the drive again, James poses for a quick photo with him.

It's a very snowy slide but I still want to try it out!

This didn't work quite as well as planned. Check out the snow wedged up the legs of the snow suit!

Once the snow had been cleared from the slide, it was super quick and great fun!

James had several goes down the snowy slide and definitely enjoyed each turn.

It's not something you'd normally do but James was more than happy to slide into the snow over and over again!

A trip down to the village play ground and with some wetter snow falling overnight, it was much better for making a snowman.

Where we'd made the snowman was near a slope and James kept on slipping over as he tried to get back up to it. He didn't seem to mind too much though!

With most of the snow gone, Granny and Grandad managed to make it up to see us. Sophie shows Grandad how to use James "cuter".

A nice capture this! Sophie and Grandad share a look.

After a long drive we arrived at our hotel near Selby in Yorkshire for a wedding a few hours later. We all got dressed into our smart gear, some quicker than others and Sophie doesn't seem to impressed by having to wait for everyone else!

We made it to the venue on time, just, and while waiting for the couple to arrive, James started running around, causing mayhem as usual!

After the ceremony, and with plenty of friends to help, we managed to get a few pictures of the four of us together.

James loved wearing his smart shirt and wanted to show it off whenever he could!

It was a grand old place and James was very bold in heading off to explore it.

That's even a big door to Mummy and Daddy but for James it's huge!

Sophie waits "patiently" for her dinner to arrive. You have to love that dress!

Sophie's first taste of ice cream is actually champagne sorbet. A sign of expensive tastes to come?!

She seemed to like her first taste and was a bit miffed when Mummy started eating it.

Fortunately Mummy didn't have it all and Sophie got a good few more mouthfuls!

A slightly bigger bit of the sorbet produced the classic "it's a bit cold" face!

James was fascinated by the disco lights and with some music on, did some great dancing on the dance floor!
