A trip down to Hampshire has allowed me to pick up a few more nice photos. Yet another trip to the wonderful Keyhaven reserve on 27th March was rewarded with 4 new photograph ticks. Spoonbill, Spotted Redshank, Dartford Warbler and Red-Breasted Merganser with also good views of Brent Geese, Skylark, Rock Pipit and Reed Bunting.
The next day, and after the rain had stopped, I drove over to Blashford Lakes to hopefully pick up a few more pictures. I wasn't disappointed, with 2 new species in Lesser Redpoll and Goldeneye. Again I also got some lovely views of other finches such as Brambling, Siskin, Goldfinch and Pied Wagtail.
An early start on 29th March got me to Denny Wood where I got a few shots of Goldcrest and Marsh Tit. After that it was back to Blashford Lakes for a few more woodland bird pictures with Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit as well as Meadow Pipit and two soggy Little Ringed Plover.
Finally, 30th March and another early start for Milford-on-Sea and Keyhaven. A brisk walk which came up with Golden Plover, Black-Tailed Godwit, Red-Breasted Merganser, Greenshank, Brent Goose, Turnstone, Chiffchaff, Wren and two shabby shots of a Kingfisher!
